Community Based Co-op

Eltham Woods is a community based cooperative long day care centre and kindergarten.

The building is owned and maintained by Nillumbik Shire Council, it was purpose built in 1988.

The centre is managed on a daily basis by the centre director, they are supported in their role by a parent volunteer formed Committee of Management. The Committee meet once a month after hours to ensure the centre is operating smoothly.

Parents are encouraged to be active members of the cooperative, this may be through being part of the parent committee, assisting at quarterly working bees or assisting with tasks such as book contacting, constructing resources or assisting in events.

Being involved in cooperative duties is a great way to meet other parents and form strong friendships with other families in our community.
